[There]..” is a website dedicated to a international community of people suffering adverse health effects from masts and antennas in the vicinity of their homes.

If you are a victim of mast radiation or strongly concerned about the issue, please write your story and share your thoughts on this website! Please click on “Tell your story” in the left hand menu and create an online case history file. You don’t need to register with this website to participate and no personal information will be recorded. You only give out as much information as you wish to.
You can also email your story to us at: story@mast-victims.org and we will put it online.

The purpose of this website is to bring together people from all over the world that have become victims of insensitive mast and antenna siting. Telecommunications companies are drowning us in radiation and they are in a state of complete denial on whether these masts and antennas have any negative health impact on the population. Credible scientific research shows that especially mobile phone mast radiation is harmful and people are suffering. Some people have even been forced to abandon their homes after becoming ill from radiation.

This has got to change. So far only few people have come forward against the telecommunication industry and those who have deserve to be known and heard.

http://www.mast-victims.org is built as a community where people living under the threat of masts and antennas can record their case histories and share their thoughts online.”

Advice for People with Hearing Aids or Implanted Hearing Devices

“Before you buy a cell phone, you should try different brands and models to see which phone works best for you…People who wear hearing aids or have implanted hearing devices may experience some difficulties when trying to use cell phones. Some cell phones cause radio frequency interference with hearing aids, so the user hears high-pitched whistling sounds, buzzes, or static.”

“Fortunately, both cell phones and hearing aids are improving. Some phones have lower radio frequency (RF) emissions or different technology that can reduce the unwanted effects on hearing aids….”

“…On July 10, 2003, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) modified the exemption for wireless phones under the Hearing Aid Compatibility Act of 1988. This means that the FCC will require cell phone makers to produce several models that are designed to be compatible with hearing aids.”

Court victory is a first for cell-phone programmers

“……[she] thought it was just another in a series of sinus infections. Her head and eyes hurt, and she was vomiting. But then Price had a seizure, and a brain scan found something far more troubling….the phone was ringing. It was the doctor’s office, … `Brace yourself. Honey, you have a brain tumor.’ “

“After her diagnosis in 1999 and surgery to remove most of the tumor, [she] started looking for answers…. convinced that exposure to radio-frequency radiation on the job, where she programmed cell phones for new customers, had caused the tumor.”…an administrative law judge who handles worker’s compensation claims awarded her $30,000 to pay her medical bills and other expenses. [She] may be the first person to convince a judge that her illness was caused by radio-frequency radiation….when she filed a workers comp claim, her boss fired her, eliminating her health insurance. Then she lost the case. The Native American single mother of two daughters was devastated. She turned to Tribal Health, a government health agency for Native Americans, to get anti-seizure medication.””…If I hadn’t been Indian, I would have died,” she said.”

“After Price recovered from brain surgery, she went to the Internet and found researchers studying the biological effects of radio-frequency radiation, and got to know them.”

“I would call them up and say, `You are absolutely dead on. If a rat could talk, this is what it would say. I’m the human rat.’ “

“[She] couldn’t find an attorney to take her case until she contacted … a semi-retired lawyer and president of the Wireless Consumers Alliance, a California-based consumer-advocacy group…[who] volunteered to represent her pro bono and re-filed her workers comp case….

“It’s not a money issue, suing the company, it’s a health and safety issue,” … [she] speaks to school assemblies and classes…

The Complexity of Sound Demonstrated by Dolphins and Whales October 3, 2006

“…Dolphins and whales…communicate through a tonal language which they use to contact us…. that the males can dive down more than 6000 feet and…the sounds they make are not pretty. They make clicks and static at depths where the sounds can be more easily transmitted. The dolphins and the whales also use echo-location, which is a way of producing sound…Is that similar to their sonar?…Yes. They send out sound waves and it moves toward the object they are focused on. When the echo from the object bounces back, it gives the dolphin or whale an acoustic picture of the environment – or the other whale or the other person that’s in the water with them. It’s interesting that in order to interpret the sounds, the sounds have to be loud enough for the echo to bounce back to the dolphin or whale and short enough so that the echo of one sound bounces back before the next sound is sent out. The sounds are sent out in all directions from a cavity located in front of their brain, called the melon.”

“As they make these sounds, they are definitely directing these toward our bodies if we are in the water swimming with them. When dolphins get really close to me, the interval between their clicks is so short, that it’s very much like a buzzing sound. Sound conveys a lot more information than light. Light is the way a human can see things, through our human eyes. But sound provides a lot more information. For example, studies have shown that when scanning a fish dolphins can distinguish whether the fish is toxic or non-toxic….”

“….Interesting studies have shown that when the left hemisphere of the human brain is sedated that person cannot speak – they can sing but they cannot speak. On the other hand, if the right hemisphere of the brain is sedated then the person can speak but cannot sing. Dolphins, with their sounds, seem to be stimulating the right hemisphere of the human brain, activating the dormant potential and higher senses –like the sixth sense.”

How do Sound Frequencies Affect the Brain? October 2, 2006

“First discovered by biophysicist Gerald Oster at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, brain wave audio technology sends pure, precisely tuned sound waves of different frequencies to your brain via stereo headphones. In his EEG research, Oster discovered that when different vibrations, or sound frequencies are delivered to the brain separately through each ear (as with stereo headphones), the two hemispheres of the brain function together to “hear” not the external sound signals, but a third phantom signal. This signal is called a binaural beat and it pulses at the exact mathematical difference between the two actual tones.”

“So, for example, if, simultaneously, a signal of 100 cycles per second entered your left ear and a signal of 109 cycles per second entered your right ear, what you would actually perceive you heard would be a rhythmic, soothing pulsation, beating at 9 cycles per second. Research results show that first parts of the brain and, eventually, large areas of the brain begin to resonate sympathetically with this “phantom” binaural beat in what is known as the Frequency Following Response.”

Brain firing

“Subsequent research determined that binaural beat frequencies could drive or guide brain activity into a wide variety of specific brain states. Thus, effortlessly and naturally, your brain activity slides into rhythm with this binaural beat, becoming organized and coherent. Within minutes, the sound frequencies start to balance the left and right hemispheres of your brain – creating a remarkable state called hemispheric synchronization and driving the electrical activity of your brain into powerful states, normally unattainable.”

“Scientists have noted that this rare phenomenon was accompanied by flashes of creative insight, euphoria, intensely focused concentration, deep calm, and enhanced learning abilities….Recent scientific research indicates that individual brain states, ranging from sleep to creativity, are marked by combinations of different brain wave frequencies.”

SAFE WIRELESS INITIATIVE ALERT

Issued September 25, 2006
Washington, D.C. —- A new qualitative risk assessment conducted by SWI staff, prompted in part by the recent confirmation of severe lung disorders among first responders and firefighters following the World Trade Center terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, indicates an urgent need for preventive intervention steps to be taken among these groups.  SWI is particularly concerned that firefighters – with jobs among the most hazardous in society – are in danger of suffering serious illness derivative of synergies among electro-magnetic radiation, toxic chemical exposures, biological disease agents, and debilitating post-traumatic stress.  The problem is further exacerbated by both the continually growing dependence of emergency responders on wireless communications and the tendency of current wireless infrastructure build-out to include firehouses and other emergency triage units.

The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) came out with an interesting report earlier in the year which addressed the increasing usage of cell phones in cars. The report states that driver cell phone usage increased in 2005, with 6% of drivers on hand-held phones in 2005 nationwide, compared to 5% in 2004.

The 2005 rate translates into 974,000 vehicles on the road at any given daylight moment being driven by someone on a hand-held phone. It also translates into an estimated 10% of vehicles in the typical daylight moment whose driver is using some type of phone, whether hand-held or hands-free.

The 2005 survey also reported:

• Hand-held cell phone use increased in a number of driver categories, including female drivers (from 6% in 2004 to 8% in 2005), and drivers age 16-24 (8% 2004 to 10% in 2005).

• The incidence of drivers speaking with headsets on while driving also increased in 2005, from 0.4% of drivers in 2004 to 0.7% in 2005.

http://blog.insweb.com/2006/09/driver_cell_phone_usage_on_the.html

A significant point to consider is that one of the most dangerous places to use a cell phone (aside from traffic accidents and road rage) is in the car, because of the surrounding metal–the electromagnetic waves just bounce around and through you, unless there is a special external antenna installe so there is some means of release.

“Research by the National Power Laboratories in Wisconsin shows that the average electronic machines modems, computers, etc.) experiences 3,000 transient events every month. Roughly 15% of all server crashes are caused by electromagnetic interference problems. These glitches cost U.S. industry $26 billion and the projected growth of this problem is at about 15% a year. Transients cause problems such as software crashes, hardware damage, and data loss or corruption. They all disrupt operations and cause economic losses. Transients can also have negative effects on human health. The greater the speed and the smaller microprocessors become, this makes them vulnerable to radiated and/or induced electromagnetic fields.

The internal configuration of the modern microprocessor is so compact that it is much more usceptible to electrical disturbances. The best way to cancel out the effects of undesirable transmissions is to screen electronic components from such sources. Organizations and applications ost affected by such problems include but are not limited to… Internet service providers, corporate
computer rooms, telecommunication and computer networks, e-Commerce facilities, electronic testing labs, banks, stock markets, industrial machinery, air-traffic control rooms, and many others.”

Thought-Styles….there are two fundamentally different approaches to doing science in the 1990s – two distinct scientific thought-styles. In the physical thought-style, the goal is to explain an observation by showing that it is compelled by basic physical laws or at least by phenomenological equations. In this thought-style, a scientific fact is a deduction from a relevant covering law made in the context of particular assumptions. The concept of causality does not occupy a central position in the physical thought-style because the necessary and sufficient cause of the observation to be explained – a force – is known in advance of the explanation.

In contrast, in the biological thought-style, the goal is to establish a scientific fact. In this thought-style, a scientific fact is a but-for cause of an observation established using orthodox measurement methods and appropriate statistical techniques. In the biological thought-style, covering laws are not employed and linkage with covering laws, even in principle, is not required as a precondition for accepting observations as valid. Scientific facts are generalizations that admit of exceptions.

… two distinct thought-styles were utilized to produce scientific facts applies equally well to all subsequently published issues of Science that I have considered…each report in any issue of Science that involves formal reasoning can be classified into one (or a combination) of the thought-styles described here. It can permissibly be concluded, therefore that there presently exist two distinct valid methods for producing scientific knowledge. Consequently, the scientific facts of the physicist and the biologist are fundamentally different objects. This analysis makes clear – I think for the first time – that there presently are two distinct pathways by which observations can rise to the level of scientific fact…. failure to distinguish between the thought-styles and to identify the applicable thought-style accounts, in part, for the present controversy regarding whether powerline EMFs affect human health.
