This is a little bit off topic, but so many people use these therapies to counteract EMF’s, it seemed important to share what was sent….there are three days left to write to Congress.

“… just spent three days reading, re-reading, researching and discussing the proposed FDA guidelines for “Complementary and Alternative Medicine” with two FDA attorneys. You can download a copy of this proposal for yourself at: http://www.fda.gov/ohrms/dockets/dockets/06d0480/06d0480.htm.

” this FDA attack on complementary and alternative health care, …considered it another “Chicken Little” rumor. On further study, I’m appalled at the speed with which the pharmaceutical companies are implementing Codex Alimentarius in the USA. If you don’t suspect the pharmaceutical companies control the FDA, you may want to research that further by visiting http://www.HealthFreedomUSA.org.

”This insidious proposal is designed to redefine every complementary and alternative health care modality and product as “medicine.” This has direct implications on the services and products provided by every alternative health care professional. There is no facet of complementary and alternative health care that is not affected. If the FDA adopts this proposal, all natural health care would be illegal even for medical doctors.”

”Essential oils, herbs, herbal remedies, homeopathic remedies, minerals, nutritional supplements, plant enzymes and vitamins are redefined in this proposal as “medicine.” Very simply, medicine is under the jurisdiction of the FDA and, by law, only licensed medical doctors may prescribe “medicines.” Anybody else who advises, advocates, counsels, distributes, markets, recommends or suggests anybody use “medicine” is practicing medicine without a license. This is a felony in the USA punishable by fines and incarceration.”

”Aromatherapy, auricular therapy, biofeedback, color therapy, homeopathy, hypnotism, naturopathy, neurotherapy, nutritional consulting, reflexology, sound therapy and wellness consulting are among the alternative health modalities being redefined as “Alternative Medicine.” This subtle change of vocabulary from “alternative health care” to “alternative medicine” makes all of these industries subject to control by the FDA as medicine. Only medical doctors would be allowed to provide, prescribe and supervise the delivery of these services. Anybody else who provided any of these services would be practicing medicine without a license and subject to incarceration and fines.”

”That’s the bad news. The good news is we have until April 30, 2007 to voice our opinion against this proposal to eliminate complementary and alternative health care in America. Almost 100,000 people have already filed their objection….”

”Please stand up and be counted. Go to http://tinyurl.com/2u7ghc and file your petition in support of natural health care, in support of complementary and alternative health care as we know it today. If you require more information, please visit http://www.HealthFreedomUSA.org or read the FDA proposed policy.”

One more strong point to validate that SAR testing is not adequate for judging a cell phone users safety.

“With SAR testing, Dummy heads are filled with solutions to simulate brain conductivity and probed to measure depth and intensity. Amazingly enough regulatory agencies have not deemed it necessary to measure exposure to eyes.… Eye’s are unprotected by the skull and comprised of cells that are extremely sensitive to electromagnetic energy.”

It is time for the funding agencies to realizethat we need to be asking new and different questions

about electropollution, EMF’s, and radiation.

There has been considerable research already done showing

relationships between many dis-ease processes and

electromagnetic frequencies. However, there has been a

limitation in the thinking so far, which raises new questions.

What if the cause and effect are not a direct link?

If the cell membrane is being affected by EMF’s, what effect

does that have on the body?

Would it always be the same effect on different kinds

of people?

If the signalizing enzymes are being affected by EMF’s,

would that always show up as the same kind of disease?

Why are some people more susceptible to symptoms from

EMF’s than others? Is there a genetic difference? A

cumulative difference? A geographic differernce?

A psychological difference? A consciousness difference?

A usuage difference?

How can one possibly set up a truly valid scientific study

when there are so many variables?

How long will it be before more people show signs

of cellular damage? How can it be measured?

What tests are there?

Since kids are on the phone much more than adults,

in some cases, are they likely to show symptoms sooner

because of the cumulative effect, or later because of

stronger immune systems?

These are questions that require the input of many

different kinds of professional to set up a good study.

It’s not so simple as saying A cause B.

How many people have to suffer before this issue is resolved?

It’s time to think outside the box!

There are two primary barriers that have inhibited the development of a strong research program in EMS. They are a paucity of well-trained researchers with an interest in EMS research and a lack of reliable funding sources to support research. There are also three identifiable secondary barriers to EMS research. They are: a lack of recognizing the need for evidence-based practice; standardizing, accessing and sharing data; and complying with the current established ethical requirements for human research.

To some extent, there is a chicken and egg phenomenon at work within the two primary barriers to developing a comprehensive EMS research program. For example, funding agencies understandably prefer to place their funds with researchers who have a track record of proven productivity. However, since there are not many proven researchers with interests in EMS problems, few funds flow into EMS-related research. On the other hand, academic institutions are reluctant to support the professional development of new, EMS-focused researchers because they cannot identify likely funding sources with a history of supporting EMS research.

Maybe researchers are asking the wrong question about EMF’s August 11, 2006

Research follows a particular methodology. But what if we changed the way we view it? Often medical research has looked for the cause of a particular disease, such as cancer. What if the cause and effect are not directly related?

People may show various illnesses because of their particular vulnerabilities. So the same cause might show up differently in different people. For instance, since radiation seems to affect the cell membrane, and the signaling in the body, the same cause (radiation) may look different in kids, for instance, than in adults.

Kids are more vulnerable because their skulls are thinner. Yet, they may have more immunity than their parents. And they are certainly getting more exposure to radiation that their elders did as kids.

So, setting up a good research program is complicated. It requires asking the right questions. And it requires being convincing enough to get the funding before the answers are there.

Personally, I don’t want to wait for the research. I think it is important to build the immune response against radiation now.

Calculated specific absorbed radiation (SAR) distribution in an anatomical model of head next to a 125mW dipole antenna. Peak SAR is 9.5W/kg over 1 mg, average 0.008W/kg. (USAF/AFRL).

One well-understood effect of microwave radiation is dielectric heating, in which any dielectric material (such as living tissue) is heated by rotations of polar molecules induced by the electromagnetic field. In the case of a person using a cell phone, most of the heating effect may occur in the head surface, causing its temperature to increase by a fraction of a degree. The level of temperature increase is an order of magnitude less than that obtained during the exposure of head to direct sunlight. The brain’s blood circulation easily disposes of excess heat by instantaneously increasing local blood flow. However, the cornea of the eye does not have this temperature regulation mechanism. Premature cataracts is known as an occupational disease of engineers who work on high power radio transmitters at similar frequencies. Due to the low power of mobile phones, cataracts have not been reported to occur in users of these.

It has been claimed that some parts of the human head are more sensitive to damage due to increases in temperature, particularly in anatomical structures with poor vasculature, such as nerve fibers. More recent results from a Swedish scientific team at the Karolinska Institute (Lonn, Ahlbom, Hall and Feychting) have suggested that continuous use of a mobile phone for a decade or longer can lead to a small increase in the probability of getting acoustic neuroma, a type of brain tumor. The increase was not noted in those who used phones for less than 10 years. The study has been criticized for possible problems in data analysis such as recall bias. However, another study conducted by the Swedish National Institute for Working Life supported an increased risk of “malignant tumors on the side of the head the phone is used.” [1] Such long term heavy use involved phones of older higher power analog designs; that were first introduced to Sweden in 1984, earlier than many other countries.
