The properties and effects of non-ionising radiations are very diverse. For the purpose of this Policy non-ionising radiations include:

Extremely low frequency (ELF) radiation

Electromagnetic radiation with frequencies in the range 0 Hz (static fields) to 3 kHz, including the 50 Hz electric and magnetic fields associated with the domestic mains electricity supply such as in domestic electrical appliances, electricity supply substations and overhead power lines.

Radiofrequency (RF) radiation

Electromagnetic radiation with frequencies in the range 3 kHz to 300 GHz, which is produced by artificial sources such as visual display units and mobile phones.

Microwave (MW) radiation

Electromagnetic radiation with frequencies in the range 1 GHz to 300 GHz, which is produced by artificial sources such as in microwave ovens and by microwave communication devices. (This radiation is now considered part of Radiofrequency radiation.)

Infrared (IR) radiation

Electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths between 700 nm and 1 mm, which is present in sunlight and produced by artificial sources such as electric radiator heaters.

Visible light

Electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths between 400 nm (blue) and 700 nm (red), which is present in sunlight and produced by numerous artificial sources, including lasers.

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation

Electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths between 100 nm and 400 nm, which is present in sunlight as well as produced by artificial sources such as arc welding and sterilization lamps.

“…There is a new companion to Einstein’s E=mc2. Can you say “E equals delta-tee-cee-squared?” The “tee” is time and delta-tee is change in time….What is Scalar Energy? Also see: Bioscalar Energy.”

“The literature states that the scalar energy is created when two common electromagnetic waves come together from two opposite converging vectors. When the energy vectors meet, the equal frequencies cancel each other leaving a standing or stationary energy. The space the scalar occupies is not a vacuum but alive with checked and balanced energies. The literature describes that it can be created by electromagnetic generators or naturally when similar frequency waves in the environment meet from two different vectors. Therefore, small random scalar energies are always present in the environment.”

“The term scalar was used by Nikola Tesla at the end of the last century as a part of powerful non-Hertzian energy (without frequencies) which he referred to as standing energy or cosmic waves. Einstein gave reference to the scalar energies in the 1920s. Yet even today modern physics textbooks and scholarly publications rarely mention scalar energies. This is understandable. The electromagnetism that we know so much about has frequencies, wave action and motion that we can measure.”

“Scalar energy is described to have zero frequencies, to be static, a stationary energy that therefore cannot be evaluated by our current frequency instruments. We do know how to create this energy but only its effects tell us that it exists in space and has power.”

“What is Bioscalar Energy? Electromagnetic energy is the most plentiful constant energy of our universe. It is a part of all structures living and dead, and the atmosphere. We create electromagnetic energies in the atoms of our living cells, which we enhance by the reaction with the atmospheric energy field. We know this expanded energy field as the human aura. Without this biofield life would not exist and there would be only an inner biochemical mix.”

“To summarize, the bioenergy field is composed of electrical and mechanical energy (frequencies). It comes from the body, passes through the body as waves of energy (frequencies). In its free form it is high in frequencies because its source is atoms. The neurological system is also electromagnetic but the source is neurons, not atoms, giving a much lower frequency spectrum.”

“Whereas the nerve electromagnetism activates muscles, brain, heart and breathing with frequencies from 0 to 25Hz (cycles per second), the human energy field from atoms is measured at about 500Hz (cycles per second) to the frequency of light.”

“…we have discovered another form of electromagnetism that is organized into a different pattern. It is no longer a wave but is changed to a standing or stationary energy. In physics this is called a scalar wave. When it exists inside the body I call it the bioscalar wave. This scalar energy does not flow like waves but it does occupy space and increases in spatial mass. When the space it occupies is sufficient (this varies with people), the energy expands outward in circles of energy. This energy expanding in circles directly influences the body?s fluid systems, blood and lymphatic.”

“Lab tests have indicated that red and white cells tend to stick together when there is illness, injury or poor health. According to the famous Max Planck Institute in Germany the scalar energy ?unsticksî the cells. Circulation is remarkably improved in lymphatic and blood systems to flow smoothly. Good flow of bodily fluid systems hastens healing. …the creation of the bioscalar wave is the essential electromagnetic healing phenomena of all healing procedures.”

It is time for the funding agencies to realizethat we need to be asking new and different questions

about electropollution, EMF’s, and radiation.

There has been considerable research already done showing

relationships between many dis-ease processes and

electromagnetic frequencies. However, there has been a

limitation in the thinking so far, which raises new questions.

What if the cause and effect are not a direct link?

If the cell membrane is being affected by EMF’s, what effect

does that have on the body?

Would it always be the same effect on different kinds

of people?

If the signalizing enzymes are being affected by EMF’s,

would that always show up as the same kind of disease?

Why are some people more susceptible to symptoms from

EMF’s than others? Is there a genetic difference? A

cumulative difference? A geographic differernce?

A psychological difference? A consciousness difference?

A usuage difference?

How can one possibly set up a truly valid scientific study

when there are so many variables?

How long will it be before more people show signs

of cellular damage? How can it be measured?

What tests are there?

Since kids are on the phone much more than adults,

in some cases, are they likely to show symptoms sooner

because of the cumulative effect, or later because of

stronger immune systems?

These are questions that require the input of many

different kinds of professional to set up a good study.

It’s not so simple as saying A cause B.

How many people have to suffer before this issue is resolved?

It’s time to think outside the box!

“Professor Denis Henshaw, professor of human radiation effects at Bristol University, says that “a huge and substantive body of evidence indicates a range of adverse health effects”. He estimates that the smog causes some 9,000 cases of depression.”

“Perhaps strangest of all, there is increasing evidence that the smog causes some people to become allergic to electricity, leading to nausea, pain, dizziness, depression and difficulties in sleeping and concentrating when they use electrical appliances or go near mobile phone masts. Some are so badly affected that they have to change their lifestyles.”

“While not yet certain how it is caused, both the WHO and the HPA accept that the condition exists, and the UN body estimates that up to three in every 100 people are affected by it.”

“Case History: ‘I felt I was going into meltdown'”

“Until a year ago, Sarah Dacre reckoned she had a “blessed life”. Running her own company, and living in an expensive north London home, the high-earning divorcee described herself as “fab, fit and 40s”. Then suddenly the sight in her right eye failed: she first noticed it when she was unable to read an A-Z map. Soon she was getting pains and numbness in her joints. She could not sleep and spent nights “pacing about like a caged lion”. Her short-term memory failed and if she took notes to remind her, she would forget she had made them.”

“The symptoms got worse whenever she was exposed to electricity. She could not use a computer for more than five minutes without becoming nauseous. Even using a telephone landline gave her a buzzing in the ear and made her feel she was “going into meltdown”.

When referring to electromagnetic frequencies, we open up a large topic which includes jargon from many fields of interest. Some EMF’s are produced naturally from the earth. These are not harmful, and in fact, can be beneficial. Other EMF’s are produced through various man-made or man-engineered processes, such as video display terminals, computer monitors and the like. Some of emitted frequencies can be harmful, especially in certain amounts. There is much discussion about where the boundaries are as to what is helpful, harmful or destructive.

Researchers are looking at this from different perspectives. Studies are done with various voltages. You might read about EMF’s being described in any of these ways:

The following research indicates that people may be affected by natural changes in electromagnetic frequencies, which can be corroborated by many people who feel climatic changes affecting them.  What questions does this raise for frequencies at even this low level that are artificially produced?  Why are so many children being diagnosed with attention problems?

The effects of extra-low-frequency atmospheric pressure oscillations on human mental activity.

Delyukov A, Didyk L.

Slight atmospheric pressure oscillations (APO) in the extra-low-frequency range below 0.1 Hz, which frequently occur naturally, can influence human mental activity. This phenomenon has been observed in experiments with a group of 12 healthy volunteers exposed to experimentally created APO with amplitudes 30-50 Pa in the frequency band 0.011-0.17 Hz. Exposure of the subjects to APO for 15-30 min caused significant changes in attention and short-term memory functions, performance rate, and mental processing flexibility. The character of the response depended on the APO frequency and coherence. Periodic APO promoted purposeful mental activity, accompanied by an increase in breath-holding duration and a slower heart rate. On the other hand, quasi-chaotic APO, similar to the natural perturbations of atmospheric pressure, disrupted mental activity. These observations suggest that APO could be partly responsible for meteorosensitivity in humans.
